Hyde Dog Park
A Playground for Dogs!

This 4.1 acre suburban off-leash fenced dog park is located on the east side of the City of Saskatoon.

Rosewood residents frequent the dog park with their pooches, taking in all that  nature has to offer walking through the Hyde Park Naturalized Park along the way!

For information, to ask questions and comment on the Hyde Dog Park visit the Facebook page maintained by the City of Saskatoon's Hyde Dog Park Ambassador.

Location
The park is located in the South end of Hyde Park adjacent to Boychuck Drive.
There is parking along Slimmon Road and one of the two entrances is located close to this parking area.
Dog Park Rules
The City of Saskatoon provides information about pet and pet owner, rules, licensing and responsibilities for off-leash dog areas.
Dog Park Rules and Licensing Requirements
Park Construction
  • The dog park was scheduled to be installed in Hyde Park the Summer of 2014.
  • The tender was awarded on August 21, 2014 and construction was anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2014. Unfortunately due to weather the park was not stated that year.
  • Late in May 2015 the fence began to go in and by the end of the first week of June 2015 it was fully installed and the park was ready for use.
  • Now our furry four legged friends enjoy this great green space meant for them!
Park Gates
  • The City originally opened this park testing out a new gate system consisting of a fence surrounding the area with gateless "T" style gates on the entrances (no closing/locking gates).
  • This design was something the City wanted to use for new off-leash dog parks.
  • Residents expressed concerns to the City as both entrances to this dog park are close to Boychuck Road (a very busy road).
  • Due to the concerns expressed the City agreed to install the gates which has made pet owners very happy.
Drainage
  • There was a drainage area running from Boychuk Drive towards to waterbody in Hyde Park.
  • Two culverts have been placed over the drainage swale in this naturalized area and grates were added to keep dogs from running through the culverts.
  • Many park users complained about dogs getting wet and muddy from running through this area so the City modified the drainage by adding rocks to mitigate this issue.
