Rosewood ​Programs - Children and Youth

Program Details 
All programs require a non-refundable Community Membership. If you have a membership from another community association please select the other membership option on our page (it is free).
If a program is full, please email [email protected] to be put on a waiting list.

Are Program Fees an Issue?
To ensure everyone, who wants to participate in a program, can participate, there are several methods to receive funding:

• KidSport Saskatoon provides grants to help cover the costs of registration fees so that all kids ages 5-18 years in Saskatoon can play a season of sport. You can apply online at Kidsport Saskatoon.
• Jumpstart is committed to helping all families access a range of activities, from boxing to bowling and skating to skiing, and more. You can apply online at Jumpstart.
• Rosewood Community Association also offers Cost-as-a-Barrier assistance to those facing financial hardships. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Program's Refund Policy
Full refund: due to the cancellation of the program.
Full refund: cancel before the first class.
No refund: after the first class.

Program Descriptions
Ballet for Beginners
Develops good posture and coordination through an introduction to ballet foundations.  This class instills imagination, creativity, and musicality through a structured class taught by a certified and experienced instructor. 

Creative Dance for Kids
Creative Dance offers children a meaningful way to express themselves through movement, music, and storytelling. Grounded in the idea that children learn best through exploration and imagination, the program uses Brain Dance to support healthy neurological development. Children build self regulation and confidence through breath and body awareness, strengthen coordination through range of motion activities, and develop both independence and social skills through solo and group movement.  Classes create imaginative worlds with stories, props, and tactile materials like parachutes, scarves, and balloons, offering joyful, structured exploration. The program is led by an educator with over 28 years of experience in creative, developmentally appropriate dance, ensuring each class meets children where they are and supports their physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.

Adult Dance Fit Flow
Adult Dance Fit Flow is a class where adults of every background come together to move and have fun. Dance Fit Flow blends the energy of dance with the
strength-building focus of functional fitness, creating a space where health and joy develop side by side. Led by an instructor trained across multiple dance styles
with integrated fitness and personal training methods, each session aims to strengthen major muscle groups, build core stability, improve mobility, and
boosts cardiovascular endurance—always with an emphasis on moving well and having fun. This 10week community class welcomes adults with or without any
dance or sports experience. The atmosphere is supportive, the movements are adaptable, and the goal is to feel stronger, move with confidence, and enjoy the
process. It’s a chance to build a healthier, fitter lifestyle while connecting with a community that celebrates progress and personal wellbeing.

Stay home alone safety
The Home alone program teaches applicable and age-appropriate skills, while increasing and reinforcing a youth’s capacity to improve their own safety.  Whether in their community or on their own, this group will be given better tools to stay home alone in a variety of different situations. Aimed at children 9-13 years old who are preparing to be able to stay safe at home on their own.

Babysitter Course
The babysitting course now has a greater emphasis on First Aid skills. The Babysitting course covers everything from managing difficult behavior's to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter. Babysitting promises to deepen and enhance the responsibility that older youth feel when caring for younger children.

Creative Art For Kids
Do you like to sketch, draw, and paint? One important skill that every aspiring artist should develop is drawing from a reference. Breaking an image or an object down into its fundamental shapes, getting those down on paper, and adding details in the right place is a super handy artistic skill that anybody can learn and every artist utilizes. So, whether you want to create works of art in a realistic style, or you simply want to make the drawings that spring from your imagination look more grounded, this class will give you plenty of opportunity to learn to draw from reference images and objects, and practice getting those pictures looking pristine!  **Supplies are provided**

Tabata Tone
Using body weight and some small hand held weights this interval exercise class will get you working hard in no time. At the end of this workout we feel refreshed and not beat up. It’s a total body workout with weights, cardio, core, balance.  Each interval starts with 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest.
