Rosewood Youth Soccer functions in partnership with Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. (SYSI) which includes the various communities throughout Saskatoon, starting October 20, 2024 until March 16, 2025.
Under 5 (Co-ed) - Born 2020 (Season Cost $ 200)
Season starts October 20, 2024 and runs until March 16, 2025. Games will be held on Sunday’s at the Saskatoon Kinsmen Henk Ruys Soccer Centre.
Under 7 - Born 2018 & 2019 (Season Cost $ 200)
Season starts October 15, 2024 and runs until March 16, 2025. Games will be held on Sunday’s at the Saskatoon Kinsmen Henk Ruys Soccer Centre.
Under 9 - Born 2016 & 2017 (Season Cost $ 235)
Season starts October 19, 2024 and runs until March 16, 2025. Games will be held on Saturday's at the Saskatoon Kinsmen Henk Ruys Soccer Centre and practices once per week to be held in the community school.

1. WHAT ARE THE AGE GROUPS, PRICES AND DAYS OF PLAY?
Note that Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc (SYSI) schedules the games for U5-U9, and the Rosewood Community Association does not have control over the schedule.
Under 5 and Under 7 will play Sunday's and Under 9 will play on Saturday's.
Price to play is $200 for U5 and U7 and U9 will be $235, which includes 1 game and 1 practice per week (at the discretion of the team/coach).

- SaskTel Soccer Centre is located 150 Nelson Road.
- No underage players are permitted in U5.
- Days of play and number of players in games are subject to change.

3. Can I register for Rosewood Community Association soccer online?

4. Other than the registration fee what is required to register for soccer?
A valid Rosewood Community Association membership is required to register for soccer. Other valid Saskatoon Community Association memberships are also accepted for programs. If you do not have a membership you can purchase a Rosewood Community Association membership for $15.00 prior to or it will be automatically added to the cost of soccer registration on the RAMP Registration page.
5. What if my child’s year of birth is 2015 or earlier?
Your child should be enrolled in Youth Soccer though our zone Lakewood Soccer. See Lakewood Soccer or SYSI.
6. My child is small/inexperienced. Can they play down a level?
No, unfortunately this is not permitted by SYSI. Note that SYSI considers U5-U9 to be non-competitive. Scores are not kept during games.
7. Can I register for U9 Developmental league through Rosewood Community Association?
Registration for U9 Developmental league is through the Lakewood Zone. Please visit Lakewood Soccer or SYSI for details.
8. Can a player register on a Community League team as well as a Zone D- League team?
For the 2020/2021 Soccer Season you will only be allowed to play with Community or D-League, not both.
9. When and where are U5-U9 practices held?
For U5, the first 15-25 minutes of the schedule games will be allotted for practicing. For U7 the first 15 minutes of each game will be used to practice. If your coach wishes to practice outside of game times, practices will be held at a community gym. U9 teams will practice at the community gyms once per week. Practices will be scheduled Monday-Friday between 6-9 PM.
10. Where are games held?
U5, U7 and U9 games all game will be held at Henk Ruys Soccer Centre or at the SaskTel Sports Centre.

11. Are U7 and U9 teams co-ed or gender specific?
Both U7 ad U9 are gender specific but SYSI will allow female players on boy's teams for U7 and U9 if there are not enough players to form a team. The coordinators will be communicating with other community associations to determine what their numbers look like. If we do not have enough girls or boys to form a team we will ask other surrounding community associations if they have players or if they need players if we have a surplus.
12. What equipment do players need?
Tim Hortons will be sponsoring the U5 and U7 Timbits leagues this season. They will provide jerseys, soccer balls, socks, shorts and medals for each U5 and U7 teams. Shin guards are recommended for U5-U9. If shin guards are worn, they must be covered in order to prevent injury to other players. Most of the older players wear soccer cleats. For U9 teams shirts and soccer balls are provided.
13. Can I coach?
Yes! We are always in need of coaches. If we don't have a coach for a team we will unfortunately not be able to field the team and will have a lot of disappointed kids. The Rosewood Community Association will do its best to find your child another community close by to play with or you can try and register your child in another community associations to play. So we urge you to please volunteer to coach your kids team - you do not have to have previous soccer experience to coach.
15. Do I have to have a criminal record check if I decide to become a coach?
Yes. All coaches must have criminal records check (CRC) as mandated by Saskatchewan Soccer Association because soccer is considered to be working Vulnerable Persons i.e. children.
16. If I decide I want to volunteer to be a coach and take the coach certification requirements, Will the Rosewood Community Association reimburse me for the courses?
17. What else is required to be a coach?
Every coach, assistant coach, manager, and volunteer parent or volunteer participating in any on field activities with the team must be registered and insured through Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA). This does not mean certified with the correct coaching certification but registered to show due diligence in terms of insurance. To ensure you are registered you must be listed on a roster submitted by your team or your Zone Registrar, this is completed by registering each season via the Rosewood Community Association online Soccer Registration page (GOALLINE). The coach also should have a same gender representative on the bench in the event of an emergency.
18. I can’t coach - how else can I help?
You can help with your team as a manager, same gender representative volunteer for the bench or fundraising for tournaments or team events. Another option is to consider signing up as a soccer coordinator for next year. Contact email us if you are interested!
19. Do I need to buy a new membership?
Rosewood Community Association memberships are valid from August 1 to July 31. You will need to renew or purchase a new membership if you do not have a valid membership. Memberships can be purchased online at the time of registration or through out website. Your child cannot play without a valid membership. At the time of soccer registration, a Community Association membership fee can be added to the first registered family member if one has not already been purchased.
20. I forgot to register, is there late registration?
If there is room on a team after September 1, 2023 you may be able to register late by contacting the Rosewood Soccer Coordinator.

21. Why is registration so early?
Saskatoon Youth Soccer requires teams to be formed by early October. Also, by offering a month long registration period, we hope to have everyone register before the deadlines.
22. Are spots limited?
No, there is no registration limit for on-time registrations. If we don’t get enough coaches to volunteer, some players will not be able to play and will receive a refund. There may be an administration fee charged for refunds.
23. How do i get a membership card?
You can purchase a membership here or a membership can be added to your registration fee when registering online. Once you purchase a membership you will receive an email from the Membership Coordinator with details about obtaining your card. For now, hold on to your email registration receipt as proof that you purchased a membership.
24. How can i pay for soccer registration fees?
The Rosewood Community Association will only be accepting online payments via GOALLINE's platform StackPay. If you don't have a StackPay account you can still pay by credit card as a guest of StackPay.
25. When will I get team information?
Your coach should email you by the last week of September. If you don’t receive an email by October 4 email the Rosewood Soccer Coordinator.
26. What is the Soccer Refund Policy?
If the soccer program you sign up for is cancelled we will contact you and refund your registration fee. There will be no refunds after August 25, 2024. Community membership fees are non-refundable.
