HYDE PARK (NATURALIZED AREA)
FALL CLEANUP

 (FREE) 
PART OF THE GREAT CANADIAN SHORELINE CLEANUP

The Rosewood Community Association’s 2nd Annual Fall Cleanup of the Hyde Park (Naturalized Area) was a great success! 

There were 14 people of all ages that came out and participated  in the event to learn about wetlands and wildlife, and helped to clean up one of the cities natural treasures.

Total weight of items collected: approx. 382 pounds

Items collected included: lots of construction materials, metal posts for snow fences, snow fences buried under dirt and vegetation,  plastic, plastic bags, paper, food wrappers, bottles, clothes, shoe and a golf ball.


The Hyde Wetlands Preserve is a 40+/- Acre Naturalized Wetland Area and Landscaped Park which is managed and maintained by the City of Saskatoon.
 
The primary wetland basin is located East of Boychuk Drive, South of Slimmon Road, West of Taylor Street East, and North of Rosewood Blvd. Approximate shoreline  length is 1.7 - 2.0 km.

HYDE WETLAND CONSERVATION AREA SPRING CLEANUP - SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2014 (FREE)

The Rosewood Community Association’s 1st Annual Spring Cleanup of the Hyde Wetlands Conservation Area at Hyde Park was a great success! 

There were 23 people of all ages that came out and participated in this event to learn about wetlands and wildlife, and helped to clean up one of the cities natural treasures.

Total weight of items collected: approx. 685 pounds

Items collected included: lots of construction materials, full sheet of plywood, large pipes,  plastic, plastic bags, paper, food wrappers, bottles, clothes, shoes.


The Hyde Wetlands Conservation Area is a 40+/- acre Naturalized Wetland Area and Landscaped Park which is managed and maintained by the City of Saskatoon. The Rosewood Community Association would like to extend a special thank you to;

RBC for their cash donation, and to their staff for assisting with the clean up

Wild Birds Unlimited store for their assistance with the donation of prizes

  * The 2nd annual fall cleanup is also planned for September.

Meeting Place: Behind the Shoppers Drug Mart (parking lot area)
Please dress according to weather conditions, wear comfortable footwear (eg. runners, hiking boots, rubber boots). Gloves will be provided however if you have a pair please bring them to reduce the amount of garbage we produce. As we are into tick season you may want to bring bug spray.

Then sign up for a Rosewood Community Association (RCA) membership!

Your membership allows you to register for programs offered by the Rosewood Community Association or currently offered by other community associations in Saskatoon. Check out the City of Saskatoon's website's Leisure Guide for programs you may be interested in.

The cost for an individual or family membership is $15 and renewed annually in August. By becoming part of your community association you are helping to bring activities and events to Rosewood.
