2016 Spring Programs DESCRIPTIONSBabysitting Course
This course will give youth the knowledge and confidence to babysit. Learn the basics of first aid, fire safety, age appropriate games and activities as well as how to stay safe while babysitting. Birds in Your Backyard and How to Attract Them Melanie Elliott from the University of Saskatchewan and Ducks Unlimited Canada will present using images, and artifacts. (Maximum 25 people) Butts and Gutts (cancelled due to low enrollment) A central and lower body workout focuses on your abs, back, legs, and core area of the body. The class is performing body weight exercise (such as squats, lunges, planks, etc.) and will strengthen, condition, and tone your body. Your posture and stamina will improve. You will feel better, look better. This is a great class for all fitness levels. Kettlebell Class (cancelled due to low enrollment) This total body workout promises to enhance strength, core stability and cardio capacity. It's a fun workout, and you will learn to safely use the kettlebells with a certified instructor. You control the intensity through the options provided. You're going to love the results you'll see from this interval training program. Landscaping Session * NEW DATE Join us for an informational session on what to do with your yard now that you've moved into this new neighborhood. To be discussed are the costs involved with planning your front and back yard. Drainage and plant types will also be discussed. This is a great opportunity to talk to a professional about your plans, please bring with you any plans you have already made. Meet Batrick and Elizabat, Big Brown Bats Meet Batrick and Elizabat (they are small) and learn about how bats are our helpful friends (they eat mosquitoes!) and what you can do to help them. Watch for event activities and information sessions to be held during Bicycle Safety week in May. Hyde Wetland Naturalized Area Spring Cleanup Come be a part of the 3rd Annual Spring Cleanup! A Professional Wetland Scientist/Wildlife Biologist will give a brief talk on wetland functions & values for the Rosewood community. Possible pond dipping. This cleanup is in conjunction with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup and the Nature City Festival. (Meet at Hyde Park bridge). Stroller Walking Group This is a new group for Rosewood Community Association and we are hoping some new moms and experienced moms will join us to get some fresh air and exercise while socializing. Meet at the Bridge in Hyde Park to start. Walking Group This is a new group for Rosewood Community Association. We are planning to do a 45 minute to 60 minute walk every week to get some fresh air and exercise. This is a great way to get out, meet new people in our neighborhood and get familiar with our community and those surrounding it. Meet at the bridge in Hyde Park to start. |
REFUND POLICY:
If the program you sign up for is cancelled we will contact you and refund your program fee. One day programs require 48 hours cancellation notice in order to receive a refund. Multiple day programs, unfortunately no refund can be made for a program after the first session of the program occurs. A $ 15.00 administrative fee will be assessed for all refund requests. Your membership allows you to register for programs offered by the Rosewood Community Association or currently offered by other community associations in Saskatoon. Check out the City of Saskatoon's website's Leisure Guide for programs you may be interested in. The cost for an individual or family membership is $15 and renewed annually in August. By becoming part of your community association you are helping to bring activities and events to Rosewood. |
